I was that little girl..

“She opened her eyes and smiled. She was a newborn, soft and delicate.”.
As a preschool girl, she became uncomfortable with young boys who tried to touch her cheeks.
Before reaching her teenage years, she had a cute little ponytail and adorable clothes. Her male friends and family would always pay full attention to her, whether she was talking, smiling, walking, or eating, which left her feeling confused.
During her teenage years, she believed that the harassment she faced was somehow her own fault. She became anxious and scared. Feeling trapped within her own body, she was like a prisoner. She stopped herself from smiling and wearing clothes that were too feminine.
Confusion, anger, weakness, loneliness, guilt… these were the next stages of her life.
Now she is a confident woman in a male-dominated corporate world. No one can scare her.
“But there is still a little girl inside who is afraid to smile.”
